PORTFOLIO

A selection of my paintings and mixed media exploring abstraction in a range of effects: from lyrical minimalism to textured work, in both acrylics and mixed media. First I cover the canvas with single color underpainting. Then I spread two different colors over the underpainting and apply some drawing. I use a palette knife, plaster and modeling paste, as well as occasional bits of sand and minerals, to shape the work. In the process of painting, I explore themes that come close to the energies of Nature, including birth, growth, decline, and extinction. As well, because of my interest in dreams and the symbolism of the Unconscious, some of those elements come into my work as well.
