Raising The Sparks

Artist’s Statement:

In various spiritual traditions around the world, there is a belief that human beings who embrace the idea of spiritual evolution have the possibility of redeeming fallen matter. In the Kabbalah, for instance, there is the idea that everything after the Big Bang was accelerating away from the Source of Perfection even as it cohered into material existence. At the heart of everything is a longing to return Home. By living in the right way, humans purify themselves and begin the journey back. When we use matter properly and consciously, or perceive it with love, we help release the material object from its fallen state, and even the simplest stone or tool is elevated.

Artists can show this process in their work. This series focuses on moments of perception that everything is deserving of liberation and elevation.
